After breakfast depart for Tarangire National Park. Full day game drive in Tarangire National Park. Tarangire has a diverse landscape, with nine vegetation zones. Ancient Baobab trees (the largest trees in Africa) dot the landscape dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. The Tarangire River, that meanders through the park attracts an abundance of wildlife, from elephants, lions, leopards, buffalos, zebras, giraffes, and antelopes to a variety of colourful birds. The park is very famous for having the greatest elephant population in Tanzania, and during a safari there you will have the chance of quietly observe many families of elephants interacting. With a stop for a picnic lunch in an observatory inside the park where you will be able to view animal’s drinking water in the river (and many times lions attacking a thirsty zebra or wildebeest), continue game viewing and finally return to the Lodge for Dinner and overnight stay.
Today’s journey takes you past Lake Manyara into the fertile Ngorongoro highlands. Crossing the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you will reach the vast open plains of the Serengeti National Park in the early afternoon. The following days are set aside for exploring the famous Serengeti, home to the Big Five – elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard and rhino – and many other animals. You can look forward to many new wildlife sightings during your game drives as no day on safari is the same. You spend the night at the Baobab Serengeti Tented Camp or similar.
After breakfast you will continue your safari in the Serengeti National Park. In the Seronera Valley you might be lucky to see predators hunt as animals gather at the waters during the dry season or following and tracking the migration around Central to North Serengeti. Lunch will be at a picnic spot inside Serengeti. Continue with Game drives until late afternoons to return to your lodge in Serengeti BAOBAB Serengeti Camp for rest, shower, dinner and overnight.
These two days are all about the Serengeti with today being a FULL DAY in Serengeti. Together with your guide, you scout for animals in this pristine corner of the world. You are in no rush and have plenty of time to observe the park’s wildlife and learn about animal behaviour and social structures. The Serengeti National Park is the third largest park in Tanzania and is stunningly beautiful. While the landscape in the south is characterised by open grassland as far as you can see, open woodlands and hills are predominant in the north and west. Together with the Masai Mara, the Serengeti hosts the Great Migration of millions of wildebeest and zebras, one of the greatest shows on earth. Your home is Baobab Serengeti Camp or something similar. To increase your chances of witnessing the Great Migration, we choose your route and the order of camps according to your time of travel.
The sunrise in the African Savannah is one of the most beautiful experiences one can have. After the game drive, return to the camp for brunch. In the afternoon, transfer to Ngorongoro, the 8th natural wonder of the world. With walls 2,000 ft high and a crater floor that spreads for 102 sq. miles, the crater is a virtual Noah’s Ark, inhabited by almost every species of wildlife indigenous to East Africa including the rare black rhino. The crater has the greatest concentration of wildlife on the planet. It contains a river, several swamps, a soda lake that, from the top, looks like steam, full of flamingoes, a forest and open plains. The large bull elephants that reside here have enormous tusks, due to the rich mineral content of the volcanic soil and grasses. They are the most incredible elephants you’ll ever see in your life.
Very early in the morning, descend down to the crater floor for a day of wildlife viewing in one of the most incredible places on Earth. After a stop for a picnic lunch near the hippo lake, and more wildlife viewing in the afternoon, drive up the steep road out of the crater and return to Moshi or Arusha
