Begin your adventure at Machame Gate. Hike through the lush rainforest, spotting unique flora and fauna before arriving at Machame Camp. Elevation: 1,800m to 2,835m Trekking Time: 5-7 hours
The trail continues through heath and moorland, offering panoramic views of Kibo Peak and the surrounding valleys. Reach Shira Camp on the Shira Plateau by the afternoon. Elevation: 2,835m to 3,750m Trekking Time: 4-6 hours
Hike to Lava Tower for acclimatization at 4,600m, then descend to Barranco Camp. This day features one of the most stunning landscapes, as you pass through alpine desert zones. Elevation: 3,750m to 4,600m to 3,900m Trekking Time: 6-8 hours
Climb the Barranco Wall, a thrilling yet safe scramble, followed by a trek through valleys to reach Karanga Camp. This day is crucial for acclimatization and preparation for the summit. Elevation: 3,900m to 4,035m Trekking Time: 4-5 hours
A gradual ascent takes you to Barafu Camp, the base camp for your summit push. You’ll rest early, as you’ll begin your final ascent at midnight. Elevation: 4,035m to 4,640m Trekking Time: 4-5 hours
Start your summit attempt just after midnight, trekking in the moonlight to reach Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa. After celebrating your achievement, descend to Mweka Camp for a well-deserved rest. Elevation: 4,640m to 5,895m, then descend to 3,080m Trekking Time: 10-12 hours
After a hearty breakfast, descend through the rainforest to Mweka Gate, where you will receive your summit certificate and return to Moshi. Elevation: 3,080m to 1,640m Trekking Time: 3-4 hours
