Experience a stunning sunrise from the summit of Mount Sinai on a hiking adventure from Dahab to one of Egypt's highest peaks. You'll ascend the 7,497-foot (2,285-meter) mountain in the early morning darkness, witnessing the first light as it illuminates the chapel and mosque at the top. Afterward, descend to the historic 6th-century Monastery of St. Catherine, built on the site where Moses is said to have encountered the Burning Bush.
Hotel name and room number are required to arrange pick-up service.
You'll begin your journey with a bus ride to the summit of Mount Sinai, where Moses is believed to have received the Ten Commandments. In the evening, you'll be picked up from your Dahab hotel for a three-hour drive to Moses Mountain. At 2:00 AM, the three-hour ascent to the 2,285-meter peak will begin, led by one of our guides. For a more challenging experience, you can take the 700 steps on the way up, leading to a breathtaking sunrise at the summit. If you'd prefer an easier journey, you can ride a camel up to the first set of 700 steps "by extra". After watching the sun rise, you'll descend and meet your guide at the monastery gate. From there, you'll visit the Church of the Transfiguration, the Burning Bush, and Moses' Well before returning to your Dahab hotel.
