Women were fully one half of the story, and you will learn about their roles as business owners and consumers. Over more than 325 years, the buildings in Williamsburg have had many lives and multiple uses, as social and political history was made both inside and out, shaping the community we know today.

Please park in the tavern parking lot located at 460 E Francis St. Walk across using Blair St, and your guide will be waiting for you in front of the capitol building on the blacktop.

The tour will conclude near the courthouse building.

  • Colonial Williamsburg Capitol Building (Pass by)

    Guests will be guided on a tour of the historic area where they will hear the history of women who helped making Williamsburg the place it was. You will see the taverns, businesses, and homes owned by these historic women.
