Explore beyond the coast on a self-guided e-bike ride through the Tweed hinterland, combining rainforest, quiet country roads and sections of the Northern Rivers Rail Trail.

Starting from our Mooball location, opposite the southern end of the Rail Trail, this ride offers access to a unique mix of landscapes, including ancient rainforest, hinterland scenery and the opportunity to visit Unicorn Falls (and have a swim) in Mount Jerusalem National Park.

Ride at your own pace using our suggested route and navigation support, with the flexibility to stop, explore, swim and take in the surroundings along the way. The route includes a mix of trail riding and quiet rural roads, with tunnels, bridges and varied terrain.

Our premium e-bikes make the ride accessible for riders with moderate fitness, helping you climb hills comfortably and enjoy a longer ride without strain.

This is a self-guided experience, so you ride independently in your own group and set your own pace throughout the day.

Meeting point

Meet us at our location in Mooball, we are next to the Moo Moo roadhouse opposite the large motorbike, you can't miss us.

End point

Tour ends at the Billinudgel Hotel in Billinudgel. Grab a drink and relax with the bikes by the car park and we will pick you up and bring you back to Mooball. Or if you come via taxi/uber you cand depart straight from there once we have pickup up bikes.

    The E Bike Hire starts at our location in Mooball, opposite the South end of the Northern Rivers Rail Trail. Grab a great coffee or have breakfast before you go at the Moo Moo Roadhouse, we are located next door. Plenty of onsite parking.

    From Mooball you can ride the best bits of the Northern Rivers Rail Trail to Stokers Siding, including the 524m long Burringbar Range Tunnel, historic Mills Creek bridge and the hinterland town of Burringbar.

    After leaving the Rail Trail at Stokers Siding make your way through the hinterland to the quirky town of Uki for a break and a snack, Village & Co Cafe, Bastion Coffee or Uki Pies are our recommendations.

    After leaving Uki the route winds through sleepy Rowlands Creek and climbs up into Mount Jerusalem National Park. Breathe in the fresh air and enjoy the silence. Navigate yourself to Unicorn falls, hidden away in the forest, a great place for reflection and a refreshing swim.

    After your descent out of the national park, stop off at Main Arm store, the hub of Main Arm village. Have an ice cream, grab a snack and meet the locals.

    The home stretch is a ride through the beautiful countryside of The Pocket. You will see a lot of cows and a few Alpaccas if you are lucky.

    The end of the suggested route is the historic Billinudgel Hotel in Billinudgel. Grab a well earned drink and wait for the optional transport back to Mooball or if you are keen ride teh extra 17km back via Wooyung reserve.

  • Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
  • The total duration is 5-6 hours but not all of that is cycling, the actual cycling time is around 3-3.5 hours.
  • Riders should be comfortable riding on gravel roads with uphill and downhill sections
