Begin your journey with a drive through the Cambodian countryside, passing rice fields, villages, schools, Buddhist pagodas, and markets. Arrive at Chong Khneas village and take a short cruise along a canal, passing floating villages complete with schools, restaurants, and even a hospital.
See fishing nets being mended and children swimming and playing. Continue through a section of mangroves and out onto the massive lake, past local fishermen and an amazing array of boats. Stop at a floating house, where the roof makes an excellent spot to take photos of the lake and the surrounding area.
On your way back, wander through the village market, blacksmith, local artisan handicraft, lotus ponds, and lotus farm. See wood and stone carving, silk weaving, and experience the art of extracting soft lotus fibers. Watch skilled artisans transform them into exquisite silks through ancestral techniques.
