The largest and oldest of the eight (8) museums run by the Ghana Museums and Monuments Board is the National Museum of Ghana. The National Museum's permanent exhibition features items like Chiefs regalia, archaeological artifacts, models of indigenous Ghanaian architecture, ethnomedicine or traditional medicines, indigenous iron technology, gold weights and jewelry boxes, stools, traditional kitchen set-up, beads, pottery, old currencies, chair of state, presidential gifts and cars, rites of passage, and a children's corner with engaging hands-on activities. These artifacts have been gathered together to tell our collective story.
