Just beyond the forest’s boundary behind us and to our right lies Mount Tamalpais State Park and the old path of the Mount Tamalpais and Muir Woods Railway. This whimsical train once whisked visitors from Mill Valley to the breathtaking heights of Mount Tamalpais, ascending to an elevation of 2,436 feet. Buy once, use for one year!
