Your first stop will be at the California Lighthouse, where you'll learn where this landmark got its name and what unfortunate events transpired to prompt the construction of the lighthouse in the first place! Note: The tour is over 0.5+ miles long per tour, with more than 12+ audio stories per tour, and takes about 2-3 hours per tour to complete. Buy once, use for one year! After that you'll spot Catalina Cove, a favorite spot for sea turtles to lay eggs and, by extension, a favorite spot for seagulls looking for their next meal.
Continuing on, you'll pass by Alto Vista Chapel, which has roots all the way back in the 18th century!
The next big landmark you'll see is the Casibari Rock Formation. These huge volcanic boulders really stand out against the rest of the landscape!
Your route will take you next to the Ayo Rock Formation, a strange and slightly alien-looking formation which the Arawak believed had spiritual significance. It even sports petroglyphs dating back thousands of years!
Your first stop will be at the Bushiribana Gold Mill, a remnant of the Aruba gold industry dating back to the 1800s.
Continuing on, you'll arrive at one of Aruba's cutest and most unusual attractions: the Donkey Sanctuary! This volunteer organization takes care of over 100 donkeys which descended from animals brought by early Spanish colonizers.
After that is the Balashi Gold Mill, another relic of Aruba's gold rush. This bit of history hasn't been active for a long time, but its skeleton remains.
Finally, you'll arrive at the Hooiberg Lookout. Standing at 541 feet above sea level, this rocky formation boasts unbelievable views of the island and the water below... for anyone willing to climb its 600 steps, that is!
