The Pikey Peak Trek is a hidden gem in the Lower Solukhumbu region of Nepal, renowned for its breathtaking Himalayan views, including an iconic view of Mount Everest. A favorite spot of Sir Edmund Hillary himself, this trek offers a breathtaking panorama that stretches across ranges like Annapurna, Manaslu, Langtang, Jugal Himal, Gauri Shankar, Everest, Makalu, and Kanchenjunga, making it one of the best vantage points in the Himalayas.
This 6-day trek weaves through lush forests filled with Rhododendron, Oak, and Pine trees, offering trekkers an immersive experience of Nepal’s natural beauty and vibrant cultural heritage. Passing through Sherpa, Tamang, and Magar villages, trekkers are welcomed with warm hospitality and a chance to experience traditional Himalayan lifestyles. The Pikey Peak route is less crowded, allowing for a more peaceful trekking experience compared to other popular trails in Nepal.
We pick up all clients from their hotels on the departure day, informing them of the time a day in advance.
About 50 meters west of Dream of Garden and next to the Tridevi Temple.
Start with a shared local jeep ride along a curvy and bumpy road. Enjoy scenic greenery along the way and stop for breaks before arriving at Dhap. Trek time: 7–8 hours.
Follow the trail along Phokte Danda, passing Sigane village. Enjoy panoramic views of Everest, Numbur, and other peaks. Walk through Phokte Danda to reach Jhapre. Trek time: 4–5 hours.
A gradual ascent along the Lamuje Danda ridge, crossing yak huts, alpine meadows, ancient Mani walls, and stupas. Enjoy stunning views of snow-capped peaks. End with a short steep climb to Base Camp. Trek time: 6–7 hours.
Early hike to Pikey Peak (4065m) for a sunrise view. Descend to Jasmane Bhanjyang, followed by a short ascent to Pambu Hill. Continue through dense forests of Himalayan fir, hemlock, and rhododendrons to Junbesi via Taktok. Trek time: 7–8 hours.
Thupten Chholing Monastery and Trek to Phaplu Visit Thupten Chholing Monastery, a major Buddhist center in the Everest region and the residence of the 31st reincarnation of Thulsik Rinpoche. Return to Junbesi and trek to Phaplu (2470m). Trek time: 6–7 hours.
Take a local sharing jeep to Kathmandu, enjoying memories of the Pikey Peak trek. The journey takes about 8-9 hours.
