You can enjoy local festival feeling at the Tsugaru-han Neputa Village.

At Hirosaki Castle, you can walk through the castle park which is famous for its cherry blossom in early to mid-April.
At the main wing, you can enter the castle tower which is one of twelve castle towers remaining from 19th century.

If we have time, you can visit a couple of samurai houses near by.

    Tsugaru-han Neputa Village(600JPY/person) Local summer festical Hirosaki Neputa Festival. Local instrument Tsugaru Syamisen live performance. You can experience local craft making If you like.(need extra charge) Including the time from Aomori to Hirosaki.

    Hirosaki Castle(320JPY/Person) Feudal period Japanese Castle Hirosaki Castle. One of the 12 castles remained from feudal era. From mid to late April, this casle area is one of the best cherry blossom viewing spots in Japan. There is a cafe you can enjoy apple pies and coffee. Near the Hirosaki castle park a Japanese restaurant serves nice local Japanese food that I recommend. Including the time from Hirosaki to Aomori by local train.
