  The Palacio de Bellas Artes, Mexico City’s architectural gem, is the country’s top cultural venue. Its iconic white marble building fuses Art Nouveau styles on the exterior and Art Deco styles on the interior. It houses the most important murals of Diego Rivera. Highlights include "Man at the Crossroads," a recreation of his controversial fresco destroyed at New York's Rockefeller Center, a powerful social critique and insight into scientific progress.   Prepare for a unique experience. The building itself is the first thing you will admire: an imposing volcanic stone construction that emulates a theocalli, an ancient pyramid. Rivera designed it inspired by pre-Hispanic architecture, so they will feel they are entering a sacred temple. Inside, a journey back in time awaits. You will see Diego’s incredible personal collection of over 50,000 pre-Hispanic pieces. He gathered them throughout his life, not as trophies, but out of deep respect for ancient art. Each room is dedicated to different cultures: Olmecs, Mayans, Aztecs... it is a direct trip to the heart of Mesoamerica! But there's more. You can also admire some sketches and works by Rivera himself, which show how his art was nourished by these roots.

  Designed by architect Juan O'Gorman, this set of houses is a functionalist gem and one of the first modern architectural works in Mexico. You will see that each studio was designed specifically for your creative needs. In Diego’s studio, you can admire his huge workspace, full of natural light, where he painted murals such as “Dream of a Sunday Afternoon in Central Alameda.” They will also see his collection of cardboard Judas and folk art, which he loved so much. Right next door is Frida's house, cobalt blue. Although his study is more intimate, you breathe its essence in every corner. The real charm is in the gardens and the bridge that connects them, a symbol of their intense and complex relationship. This place not only keeps his works, but his spirit. It's the stage where they loved, created and lived. An essential visit to understand these two icons! They're gonna love it!
