Are you ready for the adventure of a lifetime? The Ha Giang Loop is the ultimate motorbike tour that will take you to the edge of the world, including Ma Pi Leng Pass, Du Gia waterfall, Ha Giang Old Town, ethnic tribes villages, two-way limousines, and other magnificent roads. It is best to be behind on our two wheels or self-driven by following us.
Day 0: Ha Noi - Ha Giang (300km)
The bus will pick you up from the Hanoi Old Quarter at around 2:00 PM or 4:00 PM. It takes about 7 hours to get to Ha Giang.
Day 1: Ha Giang City - Quan Ba - Yen Minh - Dong Van Town (135km)
Day 2: Dong Van Town - Ma Pi Leng pass - Du Gia village (110km)
Day 3: Du Gia village - Lung Tam village - Ha Giang city (120km)
Taking a limousine back to Hanoi:
From 3:45 to 4:00 pm, the limousine bus will pick you up to return to Hanoi. There are also options for Sapa, Ninh Binh, Ha Long, and Cat Ba. Please simply let us know your preference.
Our limousine will pick you up at your hotel in the Hanoi Old Quarter area or your hotel in Hanoi, departing for Ha Giang.
The bus will pick you up from Hanoi Old Quarter at around 2:00 PM, 4:00 PM, or 7:00 PM. It takes about 7 hours to get to Ha Giang. The Old Quarter is the name commonly given to the historical civic urban core of Hanoi, Vietnam, located outside the Imperial Citadel of Thăng Long, this quarter used to be the residential, manufacturing, and commercial center, where each street was specialized in one specific type of manufacturing or commerce.
After arriving in Ha Giang City, we’ll help to get you checked in at our hostel and rest. Hà Giang is a city located on the banks of the Lô River in the Northeast region of Vietnam. It is the capital of Hà Giang Province. The city has an area of 135.33 km² and a population of 55 559 inhabitants. The population comprises 22 ethnicities, of which 55.7% are Kinh and Tày people.
The Quan Ba Heaven Gate is one of the five most famous Heaven's Gates in Vietnam. Located at the entrance to the Dong Van Karst Plateau. We stop at Quan Ba Heaven Gate, one of the popular stops for the Quan Ba Twin Mountains. Quan Ba Heaven Gate is a mountain viewpoint up a steep, switchback trail, with views across a lush valley with rice paddies.
After visiting Can Ty Pass, we’re taking a break at Yên Minh town for lunch where we can enjoy our local food. Yên Minh is a rural district of Hà Giang province in the Northeast region of Vietnam. As of 2019, the district had a population of 97,553. The district covers an area of 782 km². The district capital lies at Yên Minh.
We get back to the bike to go through Tham Ma Pass. After that, we visit one of the most popular stops in Ha Giang called “The Hmong King's Palace” where our guide can tell you everything about the history and other interesting facts about the palace. Hmong Kings’ Palace also known as Dinh Vua Meo is a grand construction built in the late 19th century with distinctive architecture that combines many cultures and mysterious stories concerning. Explore with us the impressive beauty of the Hmong Kings’ Palace to know why it has become a special tourist destination.
We’ll take back roads to get to the Dong Van area where we make a little effort to hike to the Don Cao French Fortress, for the great panoramic view & historical insights of the Dong Van region. Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark is a geopark in northern Vietnam. It shares a border with China in the north. It is a member of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network and Asia Pacific Geoparks Network, officially since Oct 3, 2010.
5:00 PM: Check-in homestay/hotel in Dong Van Town. 7:00 PM: Get dinner in Dong Van town, and a free walk around the Dong Van ancient town.
8:00 AM: Get breakfast in town (if it’s on Sunday, we come to visit Dong Van Central market, a local fair, a weekly event on Sunday with colorful products and lively activities by the ethnic communities).
We continue to the roads of Ma Pi Leng Pass, one of the four most beautiful passes in Vietnam. Ma Pi Leng Pass is a breathtaking mountain pass in Northern Vietnam, specifically in Ha Giang Province. It is approximately 20 kilometers long, on the section of the Highway 4C connecting the towns of Đồng Văn and Mèo Vạc. It is at an altitude of 1,500 m.
On the way to get to Mau Due, we’ll see authentic Hmong villages along the way. Lunch break in Mau Due village. After lunch get on the bike again and head to Du Gia village
At Mau Due Town, we go to Ngoc Long River and its cave, on the way to see the valleys from the viewpoint. We see the Dao Ethnic and Hmong. Stay overnight at Tay ethnic village. 5:00 PM: Check-in the homestay of the Tay ethnic in Du Gia village 7:00 PM: get dinner with the family (family dinner).
7:00 AM: have breakfast in the homestay with a mountain view. If there is a chance at the weekend, we walk down to visit Du Gia market where we can see local products sold by the local tribes. After that, we go to Du Gia waterfall and swim at the waterfall there. Don’t forget to bring your swimsuits with you.
We take a break and have lunch in Thai An village. Enjoying the great views on the way from Thai An - Thuan Hoa - Ha Giang City. We’ll take a break at Nui Cam Coffee where there’s a city viewpoint where you can have a panoramic view of Ha Giang City. 3:30 PM: We finish the motorbike tour at our hostel.
Taking a limousine back to Hanoi: From 3:45 - 4 pm, the limousine bus will pick you up to get back to Hanoi. There are also options for Sapa, Ninh Binh, Ha Long, and Cat Ba. Simply, please let us know your preference.
From 3:45 - 4 pm, the limousine bus will pick you up to get back to Hanoi. 10:30 pm: Arriving in Hanoi, you get dropped off at Ha Noi's old quarter.
