Arusha is situated at the foot of the beautiful Mount Meru. Arusha is known as the safari capital of Tanzania's Northern Safari Circuit. 1 stop
  • 2
    Tarangire National Park

With a packed lunch, you'll depart Arusha for a two-hour drive through the Maasai steppe towards Tarangire National Park. As you enter the park, you’ll be greeted by a landscape dominated by majestic baobabs rising out of the acacia parkland, forming a perfect backdrop for the large herds of African elephants wandering among them. Other mammals sharing this habitat range from lions, leopards, cheetahs, wild dogs, and black-backed jackals, to Kirk’s dik-diks, dwarf and banded mongoose, impalas, Beisa oryxes, steinboks, and African hare. You should expect to see buffalo, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, and waterbuck. The variety of birds we may see include Maasai ostrich, the white-headed vulture, the African scops owl, and the endemic ashy starling. You'll have lunch in the park. Later in the afternoon, you'll drive to Bougainvillea Safari Lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

  • Day 3

Tarangire National Park - Lake Manyara National Park

    1 stop
  • 3

After breakfast at your lodge, you will drive to Lake Manyara for a full-day game drive. The park has breathtaking scenery and is well famous for its lush acacia forest, giant figs and mahogany trees, as well as a growing population of baboons and blue monkeys. Permanent residents of this park also include giraffes, elephants, impalas, and a large number of buffalo. The lake is also home to a large number of hippos. Some unique facts about this park include the tree-climbing lions, flamingos on the lake shore, as well as the ground hornbill and crested eagle. The landscapes of Lake Manyara are something that can not be described in words, and the game drives along the lake provide stunning photo opportunities of giraffes and buffalo in the foreground and the lake (and its flamingos) in the background. During this day, some extra tours are possible, including a bike tour or a boat excursion. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at Bougainvillea Safari Lodge.

  • Day 4

Lake Manyara National Park - Serengeti National Park

    1 stop
  • 4
    Serengeti National Park

After an early breakfast, you will drive towards the most famous national park in the world: Serengeti National Park. The drive itself, although long, is spectacular. Seeing the Serengeti for the first time is unforgettable. As you progress into the Serengeti, you will see why the name means, in the local language, "endless plains". The park is made up of 6,900 square miles (18,000 sq. km) and, for most of it, the plains will stretch to the horizon and defy your senses and perception of distance. It is the home of the Great Migration, two million wildebeests, hundreds of thousands of zebras, and all kinds of antelopes. As for big cats and other large predators, it's the place of choice to look out for lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas. Many famous television scenes have been filmed in this park. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at Tanzania Bush Camps.

  • Day 5

Serengeti National Park Full Game Drive

    1 stop
  • 5
    Serengeti National Park

After breakfast at your camp, you will go for a full day of game drives in Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti offers arguably the most scintillating game-viewing in Africa: great herds of buffalo, smaller groups of elephants and giraffes, and hundreds upon hundreds of eland, topi, kongoni, impala, and Grant's gazelle. The spectacle of predators versus prey dominates Tanzania's greatest park. Golden–manned lion prides feast on the abundance of plain grazers. Solitary leopards haunt the acacia trees lining the Seronera River, while high densities of cheetahs prowl the southeastern plains. Almost uniquely, all three African jackal species occur here, alongside the spotted hyena and a host of more elusive small predators, ranging from the insectivorous aardwolf to the beautiful serval cat. All meals and accommodation are at your Tanzania Bush Camps.

  • Day 6

Serengeti National Park - Ngorongoro Crater

    1 stop
  • 6
    Ngorongoro Crater

On this day, we suggest a very early wake-up in order to do an early morning game drive (when the animals are more active) and see one of the best sunrises you’ll ever witness. Then you’ll proceed to Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the 8th Wonder of the Natural World. It’s one of the very rare locations in the whole continent where you can witness the black rhino. The concentration of African wildlife is the greatest on the continent. The crater has a river, several swamps, a soda lake with a great concentration of flamingos, a forest, and open plains. It’s also famous for its elephants, which are the largest in the world and have huge tusks. This is due to the rich mineral content of the volcanic soil and its grasses. After lunch, you will have time for a short game drive and then ascend the crater and exit Ngorongoro Conservation Area towards Lake Eyasi Safari Lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

  • Day 7

    Ngorongoro Crater - Lake Eyasi

    1 stop
  • 7
    Lake Eyasi

Today will be very special and different. You will wake up very early, just before sunrise, and follow your guide until he finds the Hadzabe tribe, one of the last true nomadic tribes in Africa. After some explanations about the tribe, you will join them in going about their daily morning activities. This experience is off the beaten track and does not feel touristic by any means. The photographic opportunities are out of this world. The experiences you can have with the tribe include either joining the men on their daily hunt or joining the women on their daily fruit-gathering session. Either way, you will learn about many aspects of the Hadzabe way of living. This will definitely be a highlight of your safari! After finishing your activities with the tribe, we will visit beautiful Lake Eyasi, a shallow salt lake on the floor of the Great Rift Valley. In the afternoon, you will take a flight to Zanzibar for an overnight stay at Tembo House Hotel.

  • Day 8

    Stone Town

    1 stop
  • 8
    Stone Town

Breakfast at the hotel, an optional spice tour, and a guided tour to Stone Town. Your guide will introduce you to all the buildings of interest and famous viewpoints. Stone Town and its buildings are full of history and stories of the old times of Zanzibar, during the Sultans (Arabs), Europeans, and Missionaries. After lunch on your own, you'll be picked up from the hotel and driven to another optional Spice Plantation Center, where you will roam through the fragrant spice plantations of Zanzibar and breathe in the scent of an infused past. Led by a friendly and professional guide, get an exclusive insight into the farms on this 3-hour tour. Nowadays, the plantations are à tribute to the island’s colonial past. This is an excellent chance to learn about the island's turbulent history. After the spice tour, you will be taken for an overnight stay at Lujo Zanzibar Resort on BB.

    Zanzibar- Beach Relaxation

    1 stop
  • 9
    Zanzibar Island

Relax at the beautiful Paje Beach. If you want to swim at low tide on the ’empty’ days, you’ll need to walk out a long way to reach swimmable water. It’s a perfect spot for kite surfing due to the wind conditions and the calm lagoon. Of course, a major draw is Paje Beach. It has an amazing blue sea and white sand as soft as powder. The tides are crazy. Sometimes, at high tide, the water will cover the whole beach. But on the other extreme, during some of the low tides, the whole lagoon completely empties and will be ankle deep for miles. Shopping Paje village has many souvenir shops that all roughly sell the same things: jewellery, paintings, t-shirts, wooden animals, and bags. Mwani Zanzibar – Seaweed Centre Tour A really interesting place to visit, it is also known as the Paje Seaweed Center. You can take a tour for $10, where you’ll learn about how the women harvest seaweed and turn it into beauty products like soap and body scrub. Overnight at Lujo Zanzibar Resort on BB.
