Beijing Hutong has more than 700 years history. Since Mongolian brought the word "Hutong" to Beijing. The local people have lived in the Hutong for generations to generations. This tour will take you to explore the local morning market in the Hutong, and also, you will climb up the Drum Tower to have a bird's view of the old city. The highlight of the tour will be learning how to make dumplings, eating the authentic local family food in the Hutong house.
The pickup location: Subway Line 8 and Line 2 Gulou dajie staion Exit B. Your tour guide will hold your name sigh to meet you there.
In the morning, your tour guide will meet you at Guloudajie subway station Exit B at 9:00am. The first, you will visit a morning market nearby. There are thousands of vendors in this market. All most including everything. You can buy fresh food for lunch cooking class.
Then, you can climb up the Drum Tower for a panoramic view of the old Beijing-Shichahai area. Which is the landmark building for the ancient city Beijing.
Strolling around the hutongs. While you weave through the ancient alleys, your guide points out numerous traditional-style gates and shops. On arrival at a local family's home, take part in a cooking demo and learn to make Chinese dumplings and eat a home-style meal for lunch. The tour will fininished at the same station.
