In the morning, you will be picked up in your hotel lobby. Heading to Tiananmen Square where you can see The Great Hall of People (National Congress Hall), and it is also known as the “White House” in China. The National Museum is on the east side. In the center of the square, you will see Chairman Mao’s Mausoleum there.
From Tiananmen Gate, you can walk directly to the Forbidden City — the world’s largest imperial palace complex. With over 600 years of history, it contains approximately 9,999 rooms and was home to **24 successive emperors** who ruled China from the Ming Dynasty through the Qing Dynasty. You will spend a few hours exploring its most magnificent and historically significant halls and courtyards.
During lunch, your guide will take you to a local buffet restaurant to enjoy authentic Chinese cuisine. In the afternoon, you will visit the Mutianyu Great Wall, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Your guide will lead you to a peaceful, less crowded section where you can hike for approximately two hours. The drive from central Beijing to the Great Wall takes around 1.5 hours. You will take the chairlift halfway up before starting your hike. For the descent, you may choose either the chairlift or the thrilling toboggan slide for extra fun, saving both time and energy. Please note: the toboggan is not available for visitors aged 60 and above, who may take the round-trip cable car instead. At the end of the tour, your driver and guide will escort you back to your hotel comfortably.
Meet your friendly private guide at your hotel or the designated meeting point at the scheduled departure time. Then head to the Panda House in Xicheng District, where you can observe the adorable giant pandas up close. In the morning, you’ll have the chance to watch them enjoying their breakfast.
Next, your knowledgeable guide will lead you on a fascinating tour of the Summer Palace, once the magnificent imperial garden of the Chinese royal family. With over 3,000 rooms, this vast complex is brimming with exquisite pavilions, graceful bridges, iconic long corridors, and ancient temples. As you stroll through, your guide will share vivid stories and historical insights, bringing this royal retreat to life.
After enjoying a delicious local lunch at a buffet or a traditional Beijing restaurant, your guide will take you on a wonderful walk through the old Beijing Hutongs in the afternoon. Wander along the narrow, winding lanes lined with classic courtyard houses, feel the authentic rhythm of old Beijing life, and listen to your guide share interesting stories and customs behind these century-old alleys. You’ll get a close-up view of how locals live, making this a truly immersive and unforgettable experience of real Beijing.
Continue your visit to the Temple of Heaven, once a sacred site where ancient emperors held grand ceremonies to worship Heaven and pray for good harvests. Besides its magnificent ancient architecture, you’ll also witness lively daily scenes in the surrounding park, with locals practicing tai chi, singing, dancing and enjoying leisure activities. In case the Temple of Heaven is closed on Mondays, we will visit Yonghegong (Lama Temple) instead. As a famous Tibetan Buddhist temple with a long history, it features splendid halls, exquisite Buddha statues and a strong religious atmosphere, offering a unique glimpse into Beijing’s Buddhist culture.
In the evening, you will savor the world-famous Peking duck dinner, accompanied by a spectacular acrobatic Show at the Red Theater (included if you select the Deluxe Tour Package).
