Off Road Lakes with Lunch in Ushuaia

09:00 Half an hour after leaving your hotel, and having left Ushuaia behind, we will see impressive glacial valleys, forests, and peatlands along Route 3 heading North.

10:00 - Route 3 towards the Andes mountain pass
As we gradually gain altitude to reach Paso Garibaldi, we will enjoy the view of the Andes Mountains.

10:30 - Garibaldi Stop: Panoramic view of Escondido Lake
At our stop at the Andes crossing at Garibaldi Pass, we have the first view of Lake Escondido, which we will tour entirely from South to North.
Along the coast of Lake Escondido we find a new environment to explore before venturing into the forest on the way to Lake Fagnano.

12:00 - Off-road (through the forest)
We won't say much about this part where we cross the forest towards the edge of Lake Fagnano... The best thing is to live a first-hand experience!
We will continue off-route along a large stretch of the shore of this enormous lake... and where the coast is missing... we will have to cross the lake!
Along several stops, we will be able to get in touch with little-known places and with wonderful views of Lake Fagnano, formerly known as Lake Cami (also Kami or Kahmi).
The stops along the nearly 100 kilometers of Lake Fagnano are very pleasant. This is an impressive experience of an ancient and magical landscape.

*Canoes option: those who include canoes, after an introductory talk with our guide Boteros, we prepare the canoes and start paddling. From the water, the view of the surroundings gives us a unique perspective of the place. After about 45 minutes of canoeing, we returned to the point where the trucks were left to begin the return to Refugio Nunatak.

1:00 PM - Arrival at our shelter
Just 80 kilometers from Ushuaia, the primeval forest welcomes us with its serenity. Just in time for lunch.
Now is the time to relax in a quiet place in the forest near the lake. In our cozy refuge we will have: Choripán (grilled chorizo sandwich), grilled steaks with assorted salads, dessert, and drinks. Vegetarians and celiacs also enjoy an excellent lunch available with prior reservation.

2:45 PM - We begin our return
After a pleasant and relaxed post-meal in a fantastic and quiet place, we will find the vehicles a few steps away, by the lake.
The road back to the city gives us a new opportunity to know the Andes mountain range and the serene valleys near Ushuaia.
