Ngorongoro crater is the largest intact caldera covering 310 kilometer square, 600 meters deep and 20 kilometers across. It is one of the breathtaking natural wonders of Tanzania. It is a place within the Ngorongoro conservation area where man and wildlife come directly into contact. The crater serves as a habitat to a number of species of plants and animals found inside the crater.

A day trip from Arusha to Ngorongoro Crater is the perfect way to experience one of Africa’s natural wonders in just a single day. Your journey begins early with pick-up from your hotel in Arusha, followed by a scenic drive through the highlands to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Once inside, you’ll descend 600 meters into the world’s largest unbroken caldera, home to nearly 30,000 animals including lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, flamingos, and the rare black rhino. Guided by an experienced safari expert, you’ll explore the diverse landscapes of grasslands, forests, and wetlands, enjoying incredible wildlife encounters at every turn. A picnic lunch near the hippo pool adds to the experience before you continue your afternoon game drive. Later, you’ll ascend the crater walls and return to Arusha by early evening. This full-day private safari includes all park fees, guiding, bottled water, and lunch, ensuring a seamless and unforgettable adventure.
