The private and customizable tour includes transfer by luxury Mercedes van and English speaking driver from and to your hotel in Rome to Pompeii or Herculaneum.
You will meet your driver at your hotel, Airbnb, train station or from one of the airports in Rome.
After about two hours of driving you will arrive to your destination.
You can also decide which of the two famous archaeological sites to visit: Pompeii or Herculaneum.
You also have the option to extend the tour and visit both.
You can also decide to visit the site on your own or ask our office to book a private licensed guide for a two-hour tour.

The rate for the licensed tour guide for the 2-hour private walking tour is Eur 150,00 cash for the whole group. Tickets are not included. Your guide will show you where to purchase your tickets.

After the two-hour tour you will have a break for lunch and then return to Rome. Your day trip will end at your hotel where your driver will drop you off after approximately eight hours.

    You will travel on the Rome-Naples highway to arrive in Pompeii and Herculaneum around 9:30AM. You can ask your driver, if necessary, to stop for the use of the bathroom or simply for a coffee or cappuccino. During the trip you will be able to admire famous places such as Montecassino. Once you arrive at your destination you can enter the archaeological site on your own or meet your guide for a two-hour private tour.

    Archeological Park of Herculaneum

    LICENSED TOUR GUIDE (2HRS) ON REQUEST_ Ancient Herculaneum, destroyed in 79 AD, is renowned for its tragic fate, closely linked to Pompeii. An open-air spectacle awaits, promising a unique experience. Herculaneum was founded, according to legend, by the mythical hero Hercules upon his return from Iberia. Initially influenced by indigenous settlements, it later absorbed Samnite, Greek, and Etruscan influences, ultimately succumbing to Roman dominance. Buried by the Vesuvius eruption in 79 AD, it was unearthed from 1710 onwards, as the Bourbon kings initiated excavations. Over the centuries, archaeological efforts became more organized, revealing extensive sections of the city to tourists and scholars. The currently visitable area was largely excavated from 1927 to 1958.

    Pompeii Archaeological Park

    LICENSED TOUR GUIDE (2HRS) ON REQUEST_The archaeological site of Pompeii spreads over 66 hectares, 49 of which have already been excavated. In 1858, director of the excavations Giuseppe Fiorelli had the idea of dividing the city into regions, or neighborhoods, and insulae, or blocks. The names of the houses were coined by the archaeologists over the centuries, under various criteria. The buried city was rediscovered in the 16th Century, but it was only in 1748 that the exploration phase began, under the King of Naples Charles III of Bourbon. It continued systematically throughout the 9th Century up to the most recent excavations, restorations and enhancements of the ancient city, with the rediscovering of its exceptional architecture, sculptures, paintings and mosaics.
