TORTUGUERO NATIONAL PARK

Tortuguero
Continuing the journey through the lower parts of the Costa Rican Caribbean, crossing extensive plantations of bananas, pineapple, cocoa and other agricultural products common in the area, we will reach Caño Blanco, an area of rivers and lagoons where a boat awaits us and will take us to deeper in the jungle and our final destination Tortuguero. The boat trip will take about 90 minutes and it will be a one-in-a lifetime experience surrounded by a great variety of flora and fauna. Upon arrival to Pachira Lodge, enjoy a refreshing cocktail and a delicious Lunch. After you get your room, get comfortable for explore the area and visit the museum, the beach area and the small and picturesque town of Tortuguero. A delightful dinner will be served upon arrival to the lodge.

Tortuguero National Park
Discover Costa Rican flavors as you enjoy breakfast at PACHIRA LODGE. Get ready to hike Tortuguero Hill or travel along the well-known Tortuguero Canals and have the experience of your life in this unique paradise of magnificent flora and fauna. After the tour, Enjoy a delicious lunch at the lodge. During the afternoon, take your time to enjoy our private trails, ride a boat through the canals or just relax. Dinner at the hotel. OPTIONAL NIGHT TOUR: Walk on the beach and admire the green turtles nesting (July through September). Breakfast at the lodge. Departure to Caño Negro by boat and bus. Upon arrival, check in at Caño Negro Lodge. In this enchanting space, you will be in complete harmony with nature. CAÑO NEGRO TOUR

We start the tour with a walk through the community of Caño Negro. At the dock we board our boat and begin the tour on the Frio river and lagoons where you will experience stunning landscapes, abounding with wildlife and you will get a glimpse of the daily life of people living near the wetland. Your guide will point out the many natural and cultural riches of Caño Negro. Visitors will be impressed with the variety of flora and fauna that can be seen inside this refuge which is home to more than 350 species of birds, 310 plants and at least 160 species of mammals. After the tour return to the lodge for lunch and little siesta. During the afternoon, a second tour to the diverse ecological and sustainable projects developed by the community and environmental organizations. During this experience, you will learn about unique species present in this region such as The Gaspar, a living fossil fish common in the lagoons and estuaries of this amazing region.

ARENAL – CORCOVADO NATIONAL PARK

Corcovado National Park
Corcovado National Park is the experience of a lifetime. It encompasses the only remaining old growth wet forests on the Pacific coast of Central America, and 13 major ecosystems including lowland rain forest, highland cloud forest, jolillo palm forest, and mangrove swamps, and more. There is a good chance of spotting some of Costa Rica’s shyest and most endangered inhabitants here; Baird’s Tapirs, Jaguars, Scarlet Macaws, Red-backed squirrel monkeys and White-lipped Peccaries. It is wet, remote and rugged, but the trails are relatively good. Check in at Corcovado Temp Camp, it offers modern accommodation and unbeatable ocean and jungle access that is comfortable and unique yet affordable. The camp is located right on the pristine sands of Playa Caletas, just south of Drake’s Bay. Our beachfront walk-in tents are built on large, sheltered platforms and include wood frame beds, a private deck, wireless internet and electricity.
