Desert excursion departing from Marrakech for three days. Explore the authentic side of Morocco by traveling across the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara Desert. Spend the night in a desert camp in the Sahara and go on a camel ride through the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi.
We eat dinner and spend the night among the stars in the middle of the Sahara Desert, which we reach via camelback.
We will pick up you from wherever they are staying in the city of Marrakech.
You will be picked up from your accommodation in Marrakech to begin today's first leg of our Morocco tour, which will take you from Marrakech to the desert. After that, we travel over the Tizi n'Tichka pass while taking in the breathtaking views of the surrounding environment.
As we go through Berber communities, we will get the opportunity to observe and gain knowledge on the manufacturing of argan oil by Berber women working in their cooperative. We are going to travel to the UNESCO World Heritage Site that is the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, which is the largest Kasbah in all of Morocco.
Following lunch in the Kasbah, we head in the direction of Ouarzazate. The city is sometimes referred to as the Hollywood of Africa, and while there, we visited a number of film studios as well as a kasbah.
We are going to go along what is known as the "Road of a Thousand Kasbahs." We halt at "Kalaat M'Gouna". It is well-known for the festival that takes place each year in May. Our day comes to a close at the Dades Valley, where we check into the hotel in the Dades Gorge for the night. Included in our stay are dinner and breakfast.
After having breakfast at the riad, we will continue on our Morocco excursions and make our way through the Dades Valley to see the rock formation known as "the monkey toes."
As we make our way from the Dades Valley to the Todgha valley via the town of Tinghir, we will get breathtaking views of the traditional Berber communities along the way. We have arrived at the Todgha Gorge, and there is a crimson cliff that towers over us at a height of 300 meters. Rock climbing is a popular activity that draws a lot of people to this area.
After that, we keep going to Erfoud, also known as the capital of fossils, as well as Rissani. We are going to make our way toward the town of Merzouga in the car. We get ready for a camel ride through the desert with an experienced guide. We are going to camp out in the desert for the night in Berber nomad tents.
In Merzouga, we will get to experience a breathtaking desert sunrise today. After that, we ride camels all the way back to the town of Merzouga. After arriving back in Merzouga, we will have breakfast and then continue our journey toward Rissani.
We head to Agdz as well as the Draa Valley.
We continue our journey to Marrakech, crossing the Tizi n'Tichka mountain pass on the way, and the trip comes to an end there.
