Today, we will pick you up at the Tangier airport, port, or hotel and bring you to Chefchaouen.
We'll arrive in 2 hours and 15 minutes and have the rest of the day to explore the blue city. Overnight in a lovely riad with breakfast.
Today, you will spend additional time in the morning exploring the blue city before driving to Fes.
After a few hours of driving with short breaks in scenic locations, you will arrive in Fes and spend the night in a lovely riad with breakfast in the historic medina.
After breakfast in your riad, you will begin your exploration of Fes, Morocco's "Spiritual City." You will spend the entire morning exploring the Medina and its lanes, visiting the majority of the cultural and historical landmarks, including the famed Al Karaouine Mosque and University (the world's oldest), the Medrasa Bouanania, the Tanneries, and the Najjarine fountain.
We will take you beyond the Medina after lunch to see the Royal Palace entrance, go through the Jewish quarter "the Mellah," and then visit the pottery cooperative. In the afternoon, we will take you to one of the fortresses to enjoy an incredible panoramic view of the entire Medina of Fes. Overnight lodging in the same riad.
After breakfast in your riad, you'll depart for Merzouga via Midelt and Errachidia.
Your journey will begin in Ifran, Morocco's "Switzerland," and then continue to Merzouga via Midlet and the Ziz Valley. You will see peeks of the Middle Atlas and Higher Atlas mountains during this excursion.
Stopping at the famed cedar forest, Morocco's largest, where you may see Barbarian apes.
As you approach the city of Er Rachidia, you'll note how the scenery transforms to offer clues of the desert. Following lunch in Midelt, your journey continues down the lush Ziz Valley, with stops for panoramic views along the way.
We will drive through friendly Berber communities to Erfoud.
then to Merzouga desert, where you will begin your guided camel ride, escorted by an expert camel guy, to explore the Merzouga sand sea and watch the sunset. Overnight in our desert camp, where you will enjoy meals, a campfire, and a drum party. Inside your private tent, there are flush toilets and hot showers. Your camel guide will wake you up early in the morning to witness what could be the most beautiful sunrise of your life. After breakfast at the camp, you'll peacefully camel-trek back to your riad, taking in the stunning Erg Chebbi dunes, which change with the light throughout the day.
You'll depart for the Tinghir and Todgha gorges, Morocco's tallest and narrowest gorges. You will be able to hike along its valley here.
We'll drive into the Dades Valley, where you'll witness magnificent sand castles and incredible rock formations known as "monkey toes." Overnight lodging will be in a lovely riad in the middle of the Valley (HB).
Following breakfast, we will travel via the Dades Valley to Kalaat M'Gouna and Ouarzazate. The journey through Dades Valley is known as the Way of Thousand Kasbahs, and it offers several opportunity to capture some of the best photographs of the trip.
We'll stop in Kalaat M'Gouna, "the rose city," to buy rosewater, which will keep your linen smelling fresh long after your trip is done.
Continue to Ouarzazate, known as "Africa's Hollywood."
Lunch will be served at the famed Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, Morocco's largest Kasbah. UNESCO has designated it as a World Heritage Site. It has used as the setting for many films, including 'Lawrence of Arabia' and 'Gladiator.' Our journey will continue through the majestic Tizi n'Tichka pass (2260 m) over the High Atlas Mountains, where you can also stop to explore the process of making Argan oil at women's cooperatives.
Arriving in Marrakech, where the tour will conclude at your accommodation or wherever you choose.
