Excursion through the one-of-a-kind settlements of the Atlas Mountains that travels from Marrakech to Tangier city over the course of nine days. You will be able to experience the natural beauty of Morocco during this 9-day journey that will take you from Tangier to the Merzouga Desert and Marrakech.
This circuit, which will leave from Marrakech and proceed via the Sahara, Fez, and Chefchaouen, will provide participants the opportunity to experience this cultural blend.
We will pick you up from any location in the city of Marrakech.
This morning, we will meet you at the Marrakech airport or in the city center, and then we will transfer you to a charming riad in Marrakech's ancient medina.
Following breakfast at your riad, you will embark on a morning guided tour of Marrakech, well known as the "Red City" of Morocco.
The Koutoubia Minaret, the Saadian tombs, the beautiful Palace of Bahia, and the Ben Youssef Cornic School are just some of the historical and cultural icons that your guide will make sure you experience throughout your time in Cairo.
Before arriving at the renowned Jamaa El Fna Square, you should conclude the morning by taking a leisurely stroll around the medina alleys. Here, you will have the opportunity to see a variety of artisans at work. Following lunch at a restaurant close to the plaza, the group will travel to the Majorelle Gardens and then have a quick tour of Gueliz, which is Marrakech's new city. After that, you'll have some time to go about the plaza and enjoy the various forms of entertainment that are offered there, such as teeth pulling, storytellers, magicians, and food vendors.
Following breakfast at your riad, we will journey across the Tizi n'Tichka pass, stopping along the way to take in the magnificent scenery of the area.
We will travel to Berber settlements and observe the women of those communities working together in a cooperative to produce argan oil. During these trips, you will have the opportunity to ask questions and get answers. We will travel to the UNESCO World Heritage Site that is the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, which is the largest Kasbah in all of Morocco.
After lunch at the Kasbah, we make our way to the Dades Gorge by way of Ouarzazate. The city is sometimes referred to as the "Hollywood of Africa," and the route that we will take is called the "Road of a Thousand Kasbahs."
We will be stopping at the "Kalaat M'Gouna" stop. It is well-known for the annual rose festival that takes place in May and has been going on for quite some time.
The day comes to a close in the Dades Valley, where we check into a charming riad for the night and have both supper and breakfast there.
After breakfast, we will proceed to Tinrghir and the Todra valley, where we will continue our exploration of the Dades Valley.
Following breakfast, we will make our way to Tinrghir and the Todra valley, stopping along the way to take in the breathtaking scenery of the valley's traditional mud Berber settlements. You will have approximately two hours today to hike in the Todra Valley, and then you may take a stroll beneath the 300-meter-high red cliff, which is a popular destination for rock climbers.
After that, you will continue on your way to Merzouga, pausing along the way at great locations for pectures and also stopping at a location where people work to locate fossils. Before you check into your hotel at the end of the day, a welcome drink of mint tea will be waiting for you when you arrive. Spend the night in a beautiful riad nestled in the sand dunes.
Following breakfast at the riad this morning, you will set out on an expedition to discover more about the surrounding area.
After taking a walk around the oasis in the middle of the desert, we pay a visit to the Gnawa people who live in Khamlia village. These people are originally from Sudan, Mali, and Senegal, and we get to experience their music and way of life.
After that, we are going to make our way into the desert in order to see some nomad families who live in Berber tents so that we may have a better understanding of their way of life. For lunch today, a local family will host us in their home to share a traditional Berber dish known as "Berber pizza." In the afternoon, you will ride your camel while being accompanied by an experienced camel-man to discover what is buried in the midst of Morocco's highest sand dunes and to enjoy the sunset. Afterwards, you will return to the camp for supper, a drum party, and a camp fire.
You will be woken up by your camel guide to watch the sunrise, and then you will silently camel-trek back to Merzouga, taking in the extraordinary beauty of the Erg Chebbi dunes as the light shifts throughout the day.
After making our way back to Merzouga and enjoying a steaming shower at the guesthouse, we will continue on to Fes via Errachidia, passing through the breathtaking Ziz Gorges, which were formed by the erosion of volcanic rock.
We go to Midelt by way of the Tizi Ntalghamt pass, making a pit break in Zaida for a barbecue and a glass of mint tea before continuing on to Azrou, a Berber settlement in the Middle Atlas Mountains, where we will stop to observe the Barbarian apes in the cedar forest.
After that, we will continue on to Ifrane, also known as the French town or Morocco's Switzerland, where we will make a pit break for a photograph or a beverage.
After arriving in Fes, you will spend the night at a marvelous riad and have breakfast there in the morning.
Following breakfast at your riad, you will go off on an excursion to discover Fes, known as the "Spiritual City" of Morocco. The entirety of the morning will be devoted to you wandering about the Medina and its alleys.
Spend some time seeing the bulk of the city's cultural and historical sites, such as the illustrious Al Karaouine Mosque and University (the oldest in the world), the Medrasa Bouanania, the Tanneries, and the Najjarine fountain.
After lunch, we will travel outside of the Medina to show you the entry to the Royal Palace, then we will travel through the Jewish area known as "the Mellah," and finally we will proceed to the pottery cooperative. We will pick you up in the afternoon and drive you to one of the fortresses so that you can get an extraordinary panoramic view over the entire Medina in Fes. The opportunity to spend the night in the same riad as the meal.
Following breakfast at the riad, we will leave for Chefchaouen in the direction of the north and make many small stops along the way.
We will get there in a few of hours, and then we will spend the afternoon discovering the blue city. a night's stay in a charming riad, including breakfast each morning.
We will spend today exploring the Medina.
