Explore gardens created in the early Muromachi and Edo periods. Learn about Japanese garden philosophy, understand the art of garden designs and what they represent.
Explore the Konchi-in Garden, also known as the Crane and Turtle Garden. Here you will learn the basics of garden philosophy. Followed by a visit to Tenjuan Garden, a garden that is a miniature landscape of nature. Learn new ways to appreciate gardens, such as how to take photographs. In the East Garden, with its beautiful white sand and moss, appreciate a well-designed karesansui.
Discover how Zen Buddhism developed and how it has influenced Japanese culture.
