Nuremberg is known worldwide for its Christmas market, Albrecht Dürer and sausages. The tour leads from the Hangman's House along the Pegnitz to the main market with the Frauenkirche and the Beautiful Fountain, on to the historic town hall and the famous Sebalduskirche and finally back through the Weißgerbergasse, which was largely spared the destruction of the war, over the Maxbrücke and the most beautiful part of the old town. Walk along the Pegnitz river to the "Hauptmarkt", where the famous "Christkindlesmarket" takes place in winter. Admire the gothic spires of the Frauenkirche.
Continue through the old town to the historic town hall. See the medieval "Sebalduskirche", one of the oldest churches in the city and learn about the fictional and true stories of Saint Sebaldus.
Finally, make your way back through the Weißgerbergasse, which was spared from war destruction. Learn about the lives of craftsmen in the Middle Ages.
Cross the Maxbrücke, the oldest metal suspension bridge in Europe, ending your tour on the other side.
