See the highlights of Istanbul's European Side and visit the famous Galata Tower. Your Private Guide will meet you near the famous Galata Bridge spanning the Golden Horn, and take you on a short walking tour of the characteristic Karaköy and Beyoğlu districts. Here, you will discover the traces of the medieval citadel of Galata, which was a colony of the Republic of Genoa between 1273 and 1453. As you explore these narrow alleys, the guide will tell you about Galata’s former Jewish quarter that was seized and destroyed by the Catholic Crusaders and other interesting stories from the Middle Ages.

The main attraction of this tour will be a visit to Galata Tower, which was a watchtower at the highest point of the lost Walls of Galata. The nine-story tower (62.59 m) is now an exhibition space and an open-air observation deck, offering marvelous panoramic views over the Golden Horn, Bosphorus, and most of Istanbul’s major landmarks, including Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque. Many consider this to be the best view in town. - We will arrange private transfers in a standard car (sedan) for groups of 1-4 people, and in a larger van or minibus for groups of 5 people and more. If you're traveling in a smaller group but want to travel in a more spacious car, we recommend booking a 5-people tour to take advantage of a larger vehicle.
