    Miradouro Da Lagoa Do Fogo

    The Lagoon of Fire is one of the most impressive natural treasures on the island of São Miguel. It is a lagoon of volcanic origin that has been protected as a Natural Reservation since 1974. It is located in the interior of the island of São Miguel, at the bottom of the crater of an extinct volcano, within the great volcanic mass of the Serra de Água de Pau. This lagoon is the highest on the island, about 575 meters above sea level. In addition, it is very large; it measures approximately 2 km long and 1 km wide, with a total area of 1,360 hectares. Isn't that impressive? In fact, in 2012, Praia da Lagoa do Fogo was recognized as one of the 7 wonders of Portugal in the category of "wild beach".

    Praia do Areal de Santa Barbara

    Areal de Santa Bárbara, located in the parish of Ribeira Seca, is one of the most extensive beaches in the Azores, with about one kilometer of extension. It is well known internationally for its world-class waves that justify the annual surf and bodyboard competitions. The most relevant competition is the stage of the ASP World Tour which takes place in Ribeira Grande in September of each year. About a hundred surfers from all over the world are attending this race. Famous for its northern quadrant wavelling provides spectacular moments in water.     Miradouro da Barrosa

    The viewpoint of the Serra da Barrosa is located next to the Lagoa do Fogo county of Villa Franca do Campo. From this viewpoint it is possible to have an extraordinary view of the Lagoa do Fogo and the mountainous contraforts around it, some with more than 300 meters high in the almost absolute vertical. It is located at the high altitude in the Serra da Barrosa and in its vicinity there is a abundant plant settlement typical of the forests of Macaronesia.     Miradouro do Cerrado das Freiras

    The Miradouro Cerrado das Monjas is one of the magnificent miradouros of the island of São Miguel. From this viewpoint, you can enjoy panoramic views of the Seven Cities Lagoon, the incredible volcanic boiler that has two lagoons, the Blue Lagoon and the Green Lagoon. This viewpoint is one of the most popular on the island and is ideal for taking photos and capturing all the beauty of the lagoons. The Miradouro Cerrado das Monjas is located on the same road as the Miradouro Lagoa de Santiago, the same that leaves the Seven Cities bridge that separates the two lagoons. This viewpoint is easily accessible by car and there is parking nearby, although it is also possible to reach the viewpoint on foot or by bicycle from the Villa de Sete Cidades.

    Lagoa de Santiago

    The Lagoon of Santiago that is related to the volcanic formation of the Seven Cities Mass. It is presented as a deep lagoon located in the Serra Devassa, at the bottom of a volcanic crater.
