Patwa Haveli or Kothari's Patwa Haveli is one of the most important Havelis of Jaisalmer. It was the first haveli and is not a single haveli but a cluster of 5 small Havelis. Belonged to a trader named Guman Chand Patwa, all these five houses were constructed in the first 60 years of the 19th century hence it is also known as the “mansion of brocade merchants”. It is now a museum featuring intricate carvings, furniture & artwork. The Archeological Survey of India and State art and craft department is situated in the haveli itself.
