Your tour will begin at 07:00 PM (approximate time before the bus departure) we will pick you up from your hotel in La Paz and transfer you to the Bus Station in the City of La Paz, Bolivia. You will travel for 8 hours to Uyuni in TODO TURISMO COMPANY, a company that offers quality and comfort, with bathroom on board, assistance in English and dinner included. Arriving at the Uyuni bus station, you will meet your professional guide and your private driver. In Uyuni you will enjoy a delicious American buffet in one of the most popular restaurants in the area.
The Train Cemetery in Uyuni is a major tourist attraction. It is a desolate place full of abandoned railway machinery. When we see that pantheon of twisted iron and disused locomotives, we think of the glorious past they had at the beginning of the 20th century. The rise of silver mining demanded the construction of railways and Uyuni was the place in Bolivia where the whistle of a train was heard for the first time. You will have a visit with photo stops.
The population of Colchani has 580 inhabitants whose economic activities are linked to the extraction of salt, agriculture (real quinoa), crafts and tourism. It is the mandatory stopping point on the way to the majestic Uyuni salt flat, one of the peculiarities of the place is the construction of small houses made of salt bricks and one of its attractions, in addition to the salt factory, are the craft stalls located on the street major. Activities: * Purchase of handicrafts at the zero point of the population of Colchani. * Visit to the salt processor and the Salt Museum in Colchani. * View of the first Salt Hotel "Playa Blanca" today known as the main salt museum in the area.
Then you will stop for a while at the salt piles and visit the Salt Museum. You will enjoy the impressive landscape from the top of the Incahuasi island located in the middle of the salt flat. From this point you can enjoy an amazing 360° view of the Salar.
Your visit will continue until you reach the foot of the Tunupa Volcano and your lunch will be served in the middle of the Salar with a magnificent view.
You will see one of the most beautiful sunsets on the planet, have fun with perspective photography and witness the popular and moving image of the reflection of the sky on the ground.
You will cross the Salar de Uyuni visiting the Isla del Pescado, continuing with the tour to San Pedro de Quemes where you can taste the lunch of the day.
Your visit will continue through the colorful lakes of Los Lípez, with photo stops and views of the captivating landscapes.
Along the Chilean border, following the so-called “Ruta de las Joyas” you will visit the small colored lagoons Chiarkota and Hedionda, sanctuaries of three varieties of flamenco.
You will observe the Cañapa Lagoon, a beautiful lake characterized by being surrounded by Andean plants, whose shores have whitish edges due to the saline remains of the waters. In the lagoon you will take surreal photos of the Andean landscape and observe the flocks of flamingos near you. You will also be surrounded by Andean gulls, wild vicuñas and some vizcachas.
You will have a stop at the Mirador Volcán Ollague at 5865 masl, one of the most active volcanoes in the Cordillera Occidental. You will observe from there fumaroles approximately 100 meters high. You will be immersed in volcanic rocks that have particular shapes.
You will cross the Salar de Chiguana, another salt formation that borders the Chilean border, surrounded by volcanoes in shades of grey, silver, red and white. The peculiarity of the site is to have a railway, which goes from the Abaroa Station to Uyuni.
You will visit San Juan del Rosario where the Necropolis Museum is located.
You will enter a desert area, gathering many different colors that are displayed successively at each curve of the journey.
Along the way are the extensive grounds of the Eduardo Avaroa Andean Fauna National Reserve, a protected area in Bolivia that has a unique ecosystem that combines incredible phenomena from the universe we inhabit. You will visit one of the most arid places on the planet, a desert characterized by strong winds and very interesting volcanic rock formations in their various forms such as the Stone Tree.
You will visit the Laguna Colorada, the most important nesting place in the area for three species of flamingos. The red color of the lagoon is produced by the presence of an algae that reacts to solar radiation and wind.
You will cross the Geysers, rare vapors on earth in the area are named as the Geysers of Sol de Mañana, because all its splendor occurs in the morning hours, with the first rays of light. This is the highest point of the tour (5000 meters above sea level).
The desert and the Salar de Chalviri offer a landscape that combines the white of the snow with the reddish brown of the desert and the blue of the water. There you will have the opportunity to swim in the Polques hot springs.
You will continue your journey to the Valley of the Ladies, an impressive sight with rock formations.
Then we will go to the beautiful Laguna Verde, border crossing between Chile and Bolivia.
You will go to Hito Cajones where, after a change of vehicle, you will continue your journey to your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama, arriving at approximately 3:00 p.m.
