    On arrival at the Bandaranayke International Airport, our clients will be welcomed by our representatives. On the way to Kandy Kandy is a major city located in the Central Province, Sri Lanka. It was the last capital of the ancient king's era of Sri Lanka. The city lies in the midst of hills in the Kandy plateau, which crosses an area of tropical plantations, mainly tea. Kandy is both an administrative and religious city and is also the capital of the Central Province. Kandy is the home of The Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa), one of the most sacred places of worship in the Buddhist world. It was declared a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1988.

    Bahiravokanda Vihara Buddha Statue

    The Bahirawakanda Vihara Buddha Statue is situated on a hill named just 2 km from the Temple of the Tooth Relic. This beautifully sculptured white Buddha statue was built in 1972. Standing at 88 feet, it is considered as one of the biggest Buddha statues in Sri Lanka. There is a Buddhist temple located alongside the Buddha statue in the Bahirawa Kanda hill. The hill provides panoramic views of the Kandy city including the mountain range nearby and the Bogambara prison. Devotees can worship in the temple.

    Kandy City View Point is a place to capture the picturesque view of Kandy city. It stands overlooking the Kandy Lake with the Temple of the Tooth Relic in the background. It is a good place to visit during sunrise or sunset for an amazing panoramic view of this city surrounded by mountains. It is a popular place to take photographs. This viewpoint is situated in Rajapihilla Mawatha. It is also called Arthur’s Seat and is supposedly the highest point in Kandy standing 550 meters above sea level.

    After breakfast the next morning we will leave for Sigiriya. On the way, you will visit the Hindu Temple, Matale Aluvihare, and Dambulla Cave Temple. Sri Muthu Mariamman Temple is dedicated to Mariamman, the goddess of rain and fertility. Muthumariamman Temple or Arulmigu Sri Muthumari Amman Kovil is a Hindu temple in Matale, Sri Lanka. The prefix “Muthu”, literally means “pearl”. "Mari" means rain and "Amman" means mother in the Tamil language. The temple is dedicated to Mariamman, the goddess of rain and fertility.

    Aluvihara Rock Cave Temple

    Aluvihare is a suburb of Matale, Central Province of Sri Lanka. It is located 3.5 km north of Matale and 150 km north-east of Colombo. The suburb is situated on the Kandy-Jaffna highway. It was founded by King Devanampiyatissa, around 300 B.C. but did not receive the name Aluvihare until a later date.

    Nissanka Latha Mandapaya

    Nissanka Latha Mandapaya is a square building with a fine rock-cut railing g going all-around lying the Dalada Maluwa area of the ancient kingdom of Polonnaruwa. This building has been built by King Nissanka Malla (1187-1196). The most important feature of this building is the shape and the carvings of the stone pillars. These pillars are carved in the shape of a lotus stem and are curved in three places. The top of the pillars takes the form of a lotus flower. In the center is a small Stupa. The whole building is surrounded by a fence made out of stone.

    Shiva devalaya in Polonnaruwa which is one of the 14 Hindu shrines is dedicated to God Shiva in Polonnaruwa. This shrine was built by Chola invaders who ruled ancient Sri Lanka during the 13th century AD. The shrine is located in Polonnaruwa and between the royal palace complex of the King and the sacred quadrangle. The devalaya is a full stonework and a Kandyan architectural style construction.

    In the evening we will do the Minneriya National Park safari. Minneriya National Park is a famous wildlife sanctuary in Sri Lanka, located in the North Central Province, near Polonnaruwa. It is best known for the "Gathering," an extraordinary natural phenomenon where large herds of wild elephants come together during the dry season (July to October) around the Minneriya Tank, one of the ancient irrigation reservoirs built by King Mahasen.
