This experience blends an immersive walking tour with a relaxed, light meal at the end — the perfect way to explore Ghent with all your senses. We begin with a short introduction at the Vrijdagmarkt, before setting off on a 1.5- to 2-hour journey of discovery (meal included).
Along the way, you’ll uncover the origin of Ghent’s name and step back to the very beginnings of the city, whose history stretches back nearly 1,400 years.
Stroll past highlights such as Portus Ganda, the charming yacht harbour, the iconic three medieval towers — Saint Bavo’s Cathedral, the Ghent Belfry and Saint Nicholas’ Church — and the historic Graslei and Korenlei quays, once the vibrant heart of medieval trade.
But Ghent is far more than its landmarks. The city is home to three peaceful beguinages, remarkable museums and green parks. It proudly hosted the World Expo of 1913 and has earned an international reputation as a capital of street art — well beyond the famous Graffiti Street.
We meet all travellers at the Jacob Van Artevelde statue, which is situated in the middle of the square. It is walking distance (10 mins) from Korenmarkt.
Your (light) meal is with one of our partners in the city centre.
We start at Vrijdagmarkt, a significant square in medieval times and hub for different architectural styles.
