Formerly a convict site, Port Arthur is bursting with history and today boasts a landscape of natural beauty, scenic ruins and restored buildings. Make the most out of your day and join one of the complimentary site talks throughout the day. Gain a deep connection to the history of the convicts as you cruise around the Isle of the Dead on Carnarvon Bay. Lunch and refreshments can be purchased on site, or you are welcome to bring your own. Join the optional free Remarkable Caves tour and enjoy a visit to the Chocolate Factory on our return to Hobart. Meeting and pickup
Hotel pick-ups commence approximately 40 minutes before listed start time/tour departure time. If you selected a hotel pick-up, you will receive a separate email from the tour operator. Please check your emails for the confirmed hotel pick-up time. You will receive the email within 24hrs of booking. For bookings made after closing time for the following day, you will receive your email confirming pick up details the following morning, at least 2 hrs prior to departure. Please be waiting at your hotel pick-up location 5 mins prior to your confirmed pick-up time. Not all pick-up locations are directly at the hotel. The exact pick-up location will be provided in the email sent from the tour operator. If a hotel has not been selected, your pick-up will be confirmed as Brooke St Pier, 12 Franklin Wharf, Hobart (central departure point) at 8.30am.

Join a complimentary site talk and learn about the many restored buildings including the Penitentiary, Commandant's House and the Church. Browse in the Port Arthur Gallery which includes interactive exhibits and displays. Enjoy a cruise on Carnarvon Bay around the Isle of the Dead. Enjoy a picnic lunch (bring your own) from the landscaped grounds or purchase lunch from one of the many options available in the visitors centre.
