At the Caimbros Viewpoint, the guide will show you panoramic views of the coast, the Atlantic and the island’s green landscape, whilst explaining the local history and culture.
At the Miradouro dos Cedros viewpoint, your guide will show you the view of Corvo Island and the coast of Flores Island, sharing information about the local geography and history. It is a spot much loved by our visitors for its tranquillity and the feeling of being at the top of the island, making it ideal for taking in the scenery and snapping photos.
At the Ilhéu Furado viewpoint, the guide will point out the rock formations in the sea and the surrounding coastline, explaining the local geology and history. Visitors enjoy the spot for its unobstructed view of the Atlantic and the chance to photograph Ilhéu Furado up close.
At the Machado Museum, the guide will show visitors artefacts, photographs and mementos of local life, explaining the history and traditions of the island of Flores. Visitors enjoy the museum because it gives them a better understanding of the culture and daily life of the local people, including the museum’s owner, and they can sample his liqueur, which is made on the island.
At Pico do Meio-Dia, the guide will show you the island’s landscape, the Atlantic horizon and the island of Corvo, sharing information about the geography and local points of interest.
The guide takes you to a tranquil volcanic lake on the island’s central plateau, with clear waters and surrounded by a gentle ring of tuff cones. It is a popular spot for birdwatching in the wild and for soaking up the tranquillity of the island’s interior, offering excellent opportunities for photography and explanations of the geological formation of this place.
At Lagoa Negra, your guide will show you one of the island’s best-known volcanic lagoons, with dark, deep waters that contrast with the surrounding vegetation. The lagoon lies next to Lagoa Comprida, forming a group of lagoons with distinct shapes and unique colours, often described by our visitors as one of Flores’ most striking natural landscapes
Another viewpoint we will pass by is the Portal Viewpoint. At this viewpoint, the guide will stop to show you the island’s west coast and the Atlantic Ocean, explaining the geology and interesting facts about how the island was formed. At Poço da Ribeira do Ferreiro, the guide will stop to show you the waterfalls and the surrounding valley, explaining the local geology and typical vegetation. You’ll be able to watch the water cascading down multiple levels, take photographs and soak up the tranquillity of the spot. This stop involves a walk of about 1.5 km, so make sure you’ve got your trainers and camera ready – this place is sure to impress.
At Poço do Bacalhau, the guide will stop to show you the impressive waterfall that flows into a natural pool, explaining interesting facts about the local geology and vegetation. You can enjoy the scenery, take photographs and, depending on the conditions, even take a dip in the water, in a setting typical of the island of Flores.
In Fajã Grande, the guide will stop to show you the westernmost village in Europe, explaining the local history, the lives of the inhabitants and interesting facts about the region. Visitors will be able to explore the streets, admire the traditional architecture and take photographs, whilst soaking up the village’s peaceful atmosphere.
On Monchique Islet, the guide will stop at the Fajã Grande lighthouse to show you the westernmost point in Europe. At the same time, you can admire the Atlantic, the coastal waterfalls and the islet – a view found nowhere else in the world – take photographs and hear interesting facts about the local geography and history.
At Rocha dos Bordões, the guide will stop to show you the unique vertical basalt columns, explaining how they were formed and their geological significance. Visitors will be able to get a close-up view of this impressive formation, take photographs and enjoy the surrounding landscape.
Stop for lunch at a regional restaurant, where an all-you-can-eat buffet featuring regional dishes will be served, allowing you to sample the local cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere.
At Caldeira Rasa and Caldeira Funda, the guide will stop to show you two volcanic lakes in the centre of the island, explaining their geological formation and the typical vegetation surrounding them.
At the Craveiro Lopes Viewpoint, the guide will stop to show you a sweeping view of the coast and the island’s villages, explaining the local geography and sharing interesting facts about the history and culture of these villages. You’ll be able to take in the valley scenery, take photographs and soak up the tranquillity of the place.
At Lagoa da Lomba, the guide will stop to show you a peaceful lagoon in the island’s interior, surrounded by pastures and rolling hills. Visitors can admire the calm water reflecting the landscape.
