The Anahuacalli Museum is unique. The only pity is that international visitors don’t tend to come here until their third or fourth visit to The City. Entirely conceived by Diego Rivera, it is a complete setting for his own collection of pre-Hispanic artworks. But it is also a temple to celebrate architecture, music, craftsmanship and theatre, and all in a carefully crafted natural environment.
THE BLUE HOUSE The Blue House is the intimate universe of Frida Kahlo. She spent most of her life here, first with her family and, years later, with Diego Rivera. Interesting national and foreign characters were hosted here, attracted by the magnetism of both painters. Frida and Diego wanted to leave their house as a museum for the enjoyment of all Mexicans. Upon the painter's death, the couple's friend, the museumman and poet Carlos Pellicer, planned the museumography. The administration was entrusted to the Trust of the Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo Museums, attached to the Bank of Mexico and constituted by Rivera himself in 1957.
