    Jama Masjid

    Jama Masjid is an old and an impressive mosque of India. It was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan from 1650 to 1656. With red sandstone and white marble this is the largest mosque of India. The main prayer hall is provided with 11 arch and beautiful Arabic inscription panel added to its beautification. This mosque has three domes and two bay in depth prayer hall which has a courtyard of about 99 meter square to provide the space for about 25000 people at the same time. The use of different stones provided with a pillared corridor to look around the old city and bazaars of Chandni chowk, It amazes the visitors and expand their experience. the modern and historical significance of Jama Masjid of Shahjahanbad. one can have a birds eye view of the mighty Red Fort from the eastern main gate of Jama Mosque. The Local market and many different types of shops that surround the Jama Mosque is popularly known as Chandni chowk or old Delhi Bazzars attract the attention of visitors.
