Your Kilimanjaro hiking journey begins at Moshi where you’ll meet your guides and fellow trekkers in the group joining then drive to Machame Gate, . This day is all about acclimatization as you enter the lush rainforest, teeming with wildlife and unique plant life. The trek to Machame Camp is steady, offering an introduction to Kilimanjaro climbing through moderately challenging terrain. By evening, you'll settle in for a peaceful night at Machame Camp, preparing for the next day’s adventure.
On Day 2 of your Kilimanjaro climbing journey, the landscape transitions from rainforest to moorland, with stunning views and unique vegetation. The steady ascent leads you to Shira Camp, a perfect spot for your first real exposure to the high-altitude terrain of Mount Kilimanjaro. As part of a group joining tour, you’ll get to meet other climbers, share stories, and bond over the challenge. The atmosphere at the camp is calm, and you'll rest to ensure proper acclimatization before pushing forward.
Day 3 of your Kilimanjaro hiking experience is one of the most scenic. You’ll hike across the spectacular Lava Tower, providing breathtaking views of Kilimanjaro’s landscape. Afterward, you’ll descend slightly to Barranco Camp (3,950m), which helps your body adjust to the altitude while offering you some relief from the previous day’s ascent. Today is the culmination of your Kilimanjaro climbing adventure. You’ll wake up in the middle of the night to begin the final ascent to Uhuru Peak. This challenging trek will take you through the night as you reach the summit for an unforgettable sunrise experience. At Uhuru Peak (5,895m), you’ll celebrate achieving one of the greatest milestones in mountaineering. After taking in the breathtaking views, you’ll begin your descent to Mweka Camp, where you’ll spend the final night of your journey. The descent is long, but the sense of accomplishment will make it all worth it.
After breakfast we continue the descent down to the Mweka Park Gate to receive your summit certificates. At lower elevations, it can be wet and muddy. Gaiters and trekking poles will help.
