Visit the Forbidden City, a royal palace complex that once ruled China for half a century, and stroll through Qianmen Snack Street, which gathers a variety of snacks from all over China and dozens of century-old shops that have been around for a hundred years.

This 5-hour tour of the Forbidden City and tasting of local Beijing snacks will not only allow you to learn about Beijing's history and culture but also let you taste local Beijing snacks, such as Beijing Zhajiangmian (noodles with soybean paste). When passing by Tiananmen Square by car, the guide will explain the basic information about Tiananmen in the car.

    Forbidden City-The Palace Museum

    Your guide will pick you up at your hotel at 8 am. First, you will visit the Beijing Forbidden City, located in the center of Beijing, which was once the residence of a total of 24 emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties. The guide will explain the characteristics of traditional Chinese architecture and take you into a few palaces open to tourists to see the rooms where the emperors lived.

  • Tiananmen Square (Tiananmen Guangchang) (Pass by)

    After about 2 hours of visiting the Forbidden City, you will take a car to Qianmen Snack Street. When the vehicle you are taking passes through Tiananmen Square, the guide will explain the feng shui layout of the square and the basic information of each building.

    Qianmen Snack Street, because it is closest to the Forbidden City, was once a market frequented by royal family members of the Ming and Qing dynasties. It still retains several old shops, such as jasmine tea shops and Beijing Zhajiangmian restaurants. Here, the guide will take you to taste more than three different Beijing snacks and drinks. After about two hours of visiting here, you will return to your hotel.
