You will learn about the history of the area which is home to the longest antique market in the world, colourful art, fashion, beautiful architecture, iconic movie locations immortalized here on film and why there is such a large Spanish community here too. There are six stops, including Venezuelan street food (the Cachapa) from Papelón, freshly imported Jamón Serrano & Andalucian olives from mainland Spain to one of the oldest - still family run - Spanish delis in London, a tasting of local gin from the Portobello Road Gin Distillery, baked in-house croissant buns from the hottest new bakery to hit Notting Hill, chocolate truffles from a hidden away chocolatier and a suprise picked up from the world famous Ottolenghi's. You will have plenty of time to walk, talk, eat and simply let yourself get drawn in by this incredible area. See you soon.
We will meet directly outside Ladbroke Grove tube station.
We will finish right in front of the Coronet theatre which is a 2 minute walk away from the Notting Hill Gate tube station.
Home to the longest antique market in the world. Through out the whole week Portobello Road always has an amazing electric atmosphere to it. From vintage clothing to Bric-à-brac stalls and not forgetting the lively food market, there's something for everyone here.
From the award-winning hit film 'Notting Hill' you can visit the famous Blue door and the book shop that Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts starred in.
There's so much incredible art & graffiti in the area but how could we miss works from the incredible and anonymous 'Banksy'. We will see two of his pieces on the Portobello Tales tour.
