A walking tour through the old city centre of Florence, where you will learn about the city, its history and its people. Ideal for first-time travellers, this tour includes all main sights of the city, the cradle of the Renaissance.
During this tour you will walk through Piazza del Duomo and see Ghiberti's Gates of Paradise. You will stop in front of Giotto's Bell Tower and admire its sculpture. Brunelleschi's Dome is the perfect background for your pictures.
In Piazza della Signoria you will see the tower where Cosimo the Elder was held prisoner. You will see the Fountain of Neptune and the Loggia de' Lanzi with its great collection of statues. If you wish, you can even see the self-portrait of Benvenuto Cellini at the back of his famous Perseus.
We cross Ponte Vecchio where you can see an amazing view of the Arno, and the tour finishes in front of the Pitti Palace - the residence of the Grand-ducal family. Alternatively, the tour can finish at Santa Croce square.
