  Fortaleza San Felipe

  We will visit the San Felipe Fortress is an old fortress of the Spanish Empire located north of the island of Hispaniola in the province of Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. It was built by King Philip II of Spain and was completed in 1577 by Rengifo de Angulo, the fort's warden. The fortress functioned as a prison on several occasions and the patrician Juan Pablo Duarte was held there as a political prisoner on the orders of Pedro Santana. The fortress was built to defend the north coast of the country from the English and Dutch, as well as French pirates in search of the abundant gold and silver in the area. It is located on a hill on the "Puntilla del Malecón", overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, its strategic location protects the entrance to the city from the port.   Parque Central Independencia

  Then we will visit one of the most emblematic places that is the historic center of San Felipe de Puerto Plata, it is a very popular tourist place in the city that has Victorian attractions that present Dominican history since the colonial season and a large part of the history of Dominican independence. where the main Dominican heroes met, you will also receive a tour in the San Felipe Cathedral later you will visit the pink street where you can take beautiful photos for your memories and the street of the umbrellas among other places.
