Your adventure begins with a drive from Moshi to the Lemoshoi Gate, where you will register with the Kilimanjaro National Park. After a safety briefing and equipment check, you will start your trek through the dense rainforest, home to colobus monkeys, elephants, and various bird species. The hike takes around 3-4 hours, leading to Big Tree Camp (Mti Mkubwa Camp) for an overnight stay.
The second day’s trek takes you from the rainforest into the moorland zone, where the scenery opens up with stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro. You’ll trek for 5-6 hours before arriving at Shira 1 Camp, located on the western edge of the Shira Plateau.
A relatively short and relaxing trekking day, giving you time to explore the Shira Plateau, one of Kilimanjaro’s most scenic areas. The landscape changes as you move closer to the Lava Tower, offering breathtaking panoramic views of Kibo Peak.
A challenging but essential acclimatization day! You'll ascend to the Lava Tower (4,630m), the highest point of the day, before descending to Barranco Camp. The "climb high, sleep low" technique helps reduce altitude sickness and improves acclimatization.
Today starts with the exciting climb up Barranco Wall, a non-technical but steep rock scramble. From the top, you’ll enjoy incredible panoramic views before a short trek to Karanga Camp, your resting point before the summit push.
A steady climb takes you to Barafu Camp, the final high-altitude camp before the summit attempt. You'll have an early dinner and rest, as the summit push starts at midnight.
The most challenging and rewarding day! You’ll start the summit climb at midnight, reaching Uhuru Peak at sunrise. Celebrate your achievement at the Roof of Africa, then begin the long descent to Mweka Camp.
The final trek leads through lush rainforests to Mweka Gate, where you will receive your summit certificate before heading back to Moshi
