Fishing experience on the Trabucco San Francesco
Become the protagonist of a centuries-old maritime art! You won't just be a spectator.
Flanked by the "Twirling Masters", you will experience the thrill of a traditional fishing trip, conducted exactly as it once was. No modern technology : you will be the one to manoeuvre the big winches with the force of your arms and to operate the nets. It is an extremely safe and engaging activity, especially loved by children, who enjoy actively participating feeling like real sailors.
Between fishing trips, while waiting for the fish to pass, you will enjoy a small local aperitif, to enjoy the unique atmosphere of the trebuchet suspended on the waves.

What to expect
They were the undisputed protagonists of the fishing economy on the Gargano until the mid-twentieth century and have to tell a thousand stories of fishing, hard work, the hopes of generations of skilled fishermen and, above all, of human ingenuity stretched towards a friendly and generous sea but, at the same time, merciless and destructive.
On the trebuchet of Punta San Francesco you can watch and participate in fishing as it was once done (without engines, echo sounders, computers, etc.) helping the “Mastri Trabuccolanti” (guardians of the ancient art of building and fishing a trebuchet) to operate the winches, pull the nets and collect the fish.
In short, you can attend and be the protagonist of a unique show in the world: that of traditional fishing on a Historical Trabucco Garganico.
A small refreshment (rustic pizza, taralli, wine, olives, water) will be offered between fishing trips to chat more amiably.
