Nizwa Souq is a vibrant and bustling marketplace located near Nizwa Fort. It is one of the oldest and most famous souqs in Oman, offering a rich blend of traditional Omani culture and commerce. The souq is divided into various sections, each specializing in different types of goods such as spices, dates, handicrafts, silver jewelry, and pottery. One of the highlights of the souq is the Friday cattle market, where locals buy and sell livestock in a lively and colorful setting. The souq's atmosphere, with its narrow alleyways and traditional architecture, provides a unique and authentic shopping experience. Nizwa Souq, a local marketplace that offers a variety of goods including jewelry, pottery, fish, and meats. The list goes on.
After visiting the Nizwa Souq we will go to see, The Nizwa Fort is a large castle in Nizwa, Oman built in the seventeenth century. It is a popular tourist destination. We depart Muscat to Nizwa, the old capital of Oman. Visit to the famous Nizwa Fortress. Today, the for is a museum that showcases the history of the fort and surrounding area. Walking through the fortress you get to see amazing views of the ancient town and the nearby mountains. This impressive fortress was a base used in the military to hold off the hardest attacks and seiges.
After, we drive to the foot of Jebel Akhdar, an old village called Birkat Al Mauz, then after visit the Irrigation System of Al Kattmyn, one of the 5 irrigation system heritage by UNESCO.
From there we go up to Jebel Akhdar. Also known as the Green Mountain, Jebel Akhdar houses many fruit plantations and rose gardens. Take the time to walk through the hills and cherish the valley views. There is a lot Jebel Akhdar has to offer, then drive back to Muscat
