Start before dawn with hotel pickup in the Kathmandu Valley and travel by air-conditioned vehicle to Nagarkot View Tower for sunrise. On clear days, enjoy wide Himalayan views as the sky changes colour. After sunrise, choose a mostly downhill hike through traditional villages, terraced fields and forest to the UNESCO-listed Changu Narayan Temple, or return to Kathmandu in the sunrise-only option. Private options are also available, including a visit to Bhaktapur Durbar Square. A packed breakfast box is included. Timing and mountain visibility depend on weather, traffic and trail conditions. Entrance fees are not included in the listed prices. Optional add-ons are available: Bhaktapur Durbar Square entrance fee $25 per person and Changu Narayan entrance fee $10 per person.

2Changunarayan
Changunarayan, a municipality in Bhaktapur District, is part of the urban agglomeration of the Kathmandu Valley. The municipality was created by merging the former village development committees of Old-Changunarayan, Chhaling, Duwakot, and Jhaukhel in 2014. The municipality of Mahamanjushree Nagarkot was then merged into Changunarayan in 2017. The municipality also houses a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Changu Narayan Temple. This temple is dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu and is considered the oldest temple in Nepal. It’s a peaceful and lovely destination that travelers must visit while in Bhaktapur.
