    Val D'Orcia: Montalcino-Pienza-Montepulciano, Siena

    Montalcino

    08:15 AM - Our driver will wait for you at the meeting point to drive to the charming Val D’ Orcia area. The duration from Florence to the 1st stop Montalcino by VAN is around 1,5 hours. 10:00 AM- The first stop will be a great winery in Montalcino. The winery is owned by a local family, and when talking with them, you will not have the feeling you’re visiting their workplace, but their home instead! You will learn everything about Brunello di Montalcino: the vineyard techniques, the winemaking process, its aging and, of course, how to appreciate it by drinking different vintages.

    Pienza

    After the wine tasting in Montalcino, we will go to Pienza just a few kilometers away. When arrived in Pienza, a Papal village famous for its Pecorino cheese, you will have the chance to enjoy a gourmet lunch in an ex-convent of the XV century.​ 12:45 PM- An amazing 3-course meal which includes wine and water will be served in a colorful garden with a stunning view of the Val d'Orcia Following lunch, you will have free time to discover the lovely town of Pienza where you can appreciate the historic center, enjoy the viewpoints and visit the famous cheese shops.

    Montepulciano

    14:45 PM- Then, we will keep going to Montepulciano, our last stop. Montepulciano is a quintessential Tuscan medieval village vaunting green landscapes marked by rolling hills and castle walls. Situated on a limestone hill 2000 feet above the sea level, it's famous worldwide for its "Vino Nobile" that you will be able to try during your free time. There, we will be guided through a historical cellar called "The Underground City" located in the downstairs of a local wine shop. At the exit from the underground city, you will be greeted by a tasting of wine and other food specialities.

    05:00 PM- At that point, our tour will end and we will go to Siena 55 minutes away from the close Montepulciano to enjoy your free night there.

    Siena, Monteriggioni, San Gimignano, Florence

    09:00 AM - After your breakfast,you will start your day with an amazing walking tour with our local guide in Siena. She/He will lead you through the classic spots of Piazza del Campo, Piazza del Duomo where you can appreciate the authentic medieval atmosphere that makes this town special and unique. After, you will have an hour of free time that you can spend visiting the Duomo, shopping or simply enjoying local deliciousness

    12:00 PM - Back in our minivan, we will bring you to the lovely town of Monteriggioni. Built in 1213, its fame was so big that the great poet Dante Alighieri makes a reference to his round enclosure in the Divine Comedy. There, finally, you will have the chance to try an amazing lunch and local wine in a great location.

    02:30 PM- On the route to San Gimignano, you will enjoy the beautiful Chianti landscape, plenty of vineyards and olive groves. At the arrival, you will have free time to discover "The city of beautiful towers" that has been nominated a UNESCO World Heritage Site as an example of a medieval town.

    05:30 PM - At the end of the visit, you will come back to Florence in full comfort just in time for the amazing sunset view. Our tour will end here, the 2nd night in Florence it is not included in the tour, but we have multiple offers to do in Florence, in case you would like to book them with us you are free to do so.
