Prepare yourself for an exciting journey through the history of the most famous family of Florence: the Medici! Firstly, you will visit the Basilica of San Lorenzo, the parish of the Medici and the first cathedral of Florence. It hosts many masterpieces of the great names of the artistic and architectural panorama, such as Brunelleschi, Donatello and Verrocchio. Inside there is the "Sagrestia Vecchia" (the Old Sacristy), one of the must-see in Florence, where the genius of Brunelleschi joined Donatello's. The Sacristy has the shape of a cube, surmounted by a dome and contains the funeral monument built in honor of the sons of Cosimo il Vecchio.

The tour continues with the visit of the Medici Chapels, burial place of the whole family. Inside there are several rooms, including the famous Chapel of the Princes where six Grand Dukes of the family are buried. This mausoleum is an example of the Florentine baroque style and the great dome, designed by Buontalenti, shows the grandeur of the Medici. The New Sacristy, designed and built by Michelangelo, host the sarcophagis' statues created by him, among which La Notte is considered one of Michelangelo's most beautiful works.
