    Our guide will pick you up from the hotel or the airport and then take you to different places in Kigali to show you the character of Rwanda's capital. You discover the city from different sides, enjoy the panorama from Mt. Kigali, visit the bustling city center and bustling markets, see historical and cultural places and experience first-hand the unique development of this city, which is also one of the safest and cleanest on the entire continent is applicable. The city tour can be individually adapted to your interests and our guide is of course available for all your questions.

    Kigali Genocide Memorial

    You will visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, a memorial and exhibition commemorating the genocide in Rwanda in which around 1 million Tutsi and moderate Hutu were killed between April and June 1994.

    King's Palace / Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park

    On the way to the south-west of the country where the Nyungwe Rainforest awaits you, visit the King's Palace Museum in Nyanza. Where the heart of the kingdom used to be, visit the traditional Royal Palace and immerse yourself in Rwandan history and culture.

    Chimpanzee Trekking / Canopy Walk

    Nyungwe National Park - Rwanda

    After breakfast, our guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the National Park Visitor Center, from where, after a short briefing, you will start hiking, accompanied by experienced rangers. In the rainforest of the Nyungwe National Park you go in search of our closest relatives, the chimpanzees. The trek through the dense primary forest lasts 2 to 6 hours, crowned by the unique encounter with the chimpanzees. A total of 13 different primates live in the Nyungwe, one of the oldest primeval forests in Africa. Its flora and fauna can be experienced spectacularly from a different perspective later in the afternoon when you move up to 70 meters above the ground between treetops on the Canopy Walk.

    Insights into tea production - from the plant to the cup

    On the edge of the Nyungwe Forest, you will visit a tea plantation in the buffer zone around the rainforest and gain exciting insights into the cultivation and processing of one of the country's most important export goods.

    Lake Burera and Lake Ruhondo

    After breakfast our guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kigali. You leave the capital and drive to the north of Rwanda. On the way to Volcanoes National Park you will cross picturesque landscapes and gather impressions of rural life in the land of a thousand hills. Check into your lodge in Musanze, at the foot of the Virunga volcanoes. After lunch you will discover the "Twin Lakes" Lake Burera and Lake Ruhondo, where you can finally enjoy the sunset in front of the volcanic backdrop on a boat tour.

    Mountain Gorilla Trekking / Iby'Iwacu Cultural Village

    Volcanoes National Park

    A unique experience and absolute highlight of the tour awaits you the next morning. Head into the dense montane rainforest of Volcanoes National Park in search of one of twelve families of gorillas that make their home on the slopes of the Virunga Volcanoes. Experienced park rangers will accompany you through the impressive scenery, which is also home to buffalo, forest elephants and many other primates. Finally, feel like the great Dian Fossey for an hour and experience unforgettable moments in close proximity to mountain gorillas, the world's largest great ape. You then hike back to the national park entrance, where our guide will be waiting for you.

    After lunch at your lodge, you will visit the Iby'Iwacu Cultural Village, which offers exciting insights into the traditions and culture of the local population around the national park.

    Culture and Heritage Tour / Return to Kigali

    After a hearty breakfast, our guide will take you to a small village near Musanze. There you will immerse yourself in the life of a local family for half a day. You will get to know the daily rhythm between seasonal vegetable cultivation and animal husbandry, visit a local market before cooking a typical dish of the local cuisine together in a traditional way. You will also be introduced to the production of traditional beer from millet and bananas, as well as the art of basket weaving.
