    Experience the vibrant culture and rich traditions of Tanzania with a day trip to Mto wa Mbu. As you explore the outskirts of the town, you'll visit expansive banana plantations. Here, you’ll learn about traditional farming methods and see firsthand how bananas are grown and harvested. A highlight of the tour is the opportunity to enjoy a delicious, authentic local lunch in the heart of the banana plantations. Throughout the tour, you’ll have the chance to meet people from various ethnic backgrounds and gain a deeper understanding of their customs, languages, and way of life. After your day of exploration head to your lodge for dinner & overnight.

    Mto wa Mbu to Lake Eyasi

    Embark on an immersive day trip to the stunning and culturally rich Lake Eyasi. Begin your adventure with an early morning departure. Upon arrival at Lake Eyasi, your first stop is the Hadzabe tribe, one of Tanzania’s most ancient indigenous communities. After your visit with the Hadzabe, head to a nearby Datoga village. The Datoga are pastoralists and blacksmiths, known for their skilled craftsmanship in metalwork. Around midday, enjoy a simple but authentic local lunch, surrounded by the peaceful environment of Lake Eyasi. After lunch, take a leisurely walk along the shores of the lake. As the day comes to a close, you'll begin your scenic drive back to Suricata Boma Lodge, arriving in the late afternoon or early evening.

    Lake Natron

    Start your adventure with an early morning departure from Suricata Boma Lodge, traveling through the striking Great Rift Valley. Arrive at Lake Natron, where you'll be greeted by stunning views of the shimmering alkaline lake and the towering Ol Doinyo Lengai volcano. After an relaxing lunch, embark on a scenic hike to the Ngare Sero Waterfalls. Afterward, return to Lake Natron for a nature walk along its shores. As the sun sets, the lake transforms into a magical scene with fiery reflections dancing on its surface. Capture this incredible moment before enjoying dinner and some rest ahead of the big hike the next day.

    Ol Doinyo Lengai Hike

    Your hike up Ol Doinyo Lengai starts in the cool early hours. With the guidance of experienced local guides, ascend the rugged slopes of this active volcano under the starlit sky. After a challenging hike, reach the summit of Ol Doinyo Lengai just as the sun begins to rise. After soaking in the views from the summit, begin your descent back down the volcano. After your descent, savor a refreshing breakfast at your campsite, where you can relax and recharge. After resting, visit a nearby Maasai village to engage with the local community and learn about their ancient customs and way of life. Enjoy a local lunch & begin your journey back to Arusha.
