The tour begins in the left corner of Praia do Forte, with a walk to the deck view, where we take a break to contemplate the scenery and appreciate the landscape. Then we continue to Fort St. Matthew, one of the oldest and most symbolic buildings in the city, dating from the 17th century. There, we learned a bit of the history of the place, we drank coconut water with local sellers and took the time to relax, observe the sea and enjoy the surrounding nature.
We will take a walk in the Orla da Passagem, the visitor walks stone streets flanked by historic mansions that tell some of the history of the city. The edge of the Itajuru Canal completes the landscape, forming one of the most beautiful and preserved sections of the ancient city.
Next, the tour goes to the Largo de São Benedito, in the Passage neighborhood. With its charming white little church, the place preserves the atmosphere of the time when Cabo Frio began to develop as a colonial Villa.
We will drive through the entire Boulevard Canal with photo stops if the customer wishes
The last stop is at the top of the Guide Hill, where is the Chapel of Our Lady of the Guide, built in the 18th century. From the viewpoint, one can enjoy one of the most beautiful panoramic views of the city, ending the itinerary with a moment of contemplation and connection with the local history and nature.
The tour continues to the center of Cabo Frio, where we visit two important historical landmarks: the Palace of the Eagles and the Charitas. The 'Palace of the Eagles', a 19th-century building, impresses by its imposition and historical value. It has already housed schools and public departments, and is today one of the main symbols of the historical architecture of the city. A few steps away, we visit Charitas, another historic building that currently functions as a cultural space and houses exhibitions and artistic activities. It is a stop rich in history and local identity, in the heart of Cabo Frio.
