This amazing class is taught by competitive country swing dancer Rick Harris and his caring group of instructors. Rick is considered the grandfather of country swing in Nashville and has been teaching and dancing country swing for over a dozen years.
Prior to teaching dance full time, Coach Rick taught athletes how to perform at their best. Beginners find his unique teaching methods easy to follow which makes learning how to dance a breeze.
Coach Rick also brings his country sense of humor and entertaining style to this fun class. You'll laugh and dance, ready to show off your new moves at the honky tonks, at weddings and in your kitchen when you leave.
If you prefer to have an adult beverage when you learn to dance, you are welcome to BYOB your beverage of choice if done so responsibly.
What's Included
Meeting and pickup
We are in a business park with plenty of free parking. Enter "Turn Their Heads" in Google Maps. Come in the front door and our friendly instructors and staff will greet you. If we are in a lesson, just grab a seat or head to the right to our lounge. Cubbies available to store your belongings.
What to expect
Country swing can be done to any type of music and doesn't require rhythm to look great, making it easy and fun for beginners to learn. It also doesn't require much space making it great for crowded bars, weddings and festivals.
Class starts out with an amazing demonstration of two step & country swing by your instructors, with spins & dips! Once you're excited to get started, you'll learn the basic steps of this easy and super-fun partner dance. If you can walk, you can country swing!
After you've got the basic step, you'll officially be country swing dancing, but it doesn't stop there! You'll also learn a variety of spins and moves to look fancy and add variety. There will be lots of practice so you will truly be able to country swing dance and look great when you leave the class.
